Bit of a horror to see how easily a small jap car crumpled up the 850, small jap car almost undamaged & drivable. Good 'ol Russian steel.

1121367 2010-07-23 04:22:00 You dont have to have a powerful car to get into trouble.

Nice looking car, take care of it (you mentioned oil change -- do it regularly when required by mileage and they last longer) drive sensibility and enjoy it.

+1 - drive carefully, take care of it, and be sensible. It's a good first car imo (though I'd have gone manual :P)

And no, you don't have to have a powerful car to get in to trouble - 100km/h is the same speed in a 80hp 900cc or a 670hp V12.

That said, I do think there is a case for getting in trouble for lack of power, too ;)

1121369 2010-07-23 05:05:00 Probably beats the poo out of my first car. Austin A30.

I loved my A30.
No seatbelts, no synchro, no shocks, turn 360 degrees in an area the size of a dinner plate, easy to park in spaces already taken by other small cars.

It was my 3rd car. My first was an A60. Which actually lasted till after the A30.

1121371 2010-07-23 09:38:00 It has a couple already :D on the wheel arches, but so tiny that they're barely noticeable, could probably push them out from the inside.

Gotta show off some more!

1121372 2010-07-23 10:54:00 Nice first car, mine was a 86 323, admittly it was the flashy 1500cc twin carby model (GT?). Went hard until it stopped going.

Current car commodore 3800cc, I'm now classed as modified car so AMI forced me into Full Cover (or no theft cover third party). Insurance went from $18 a month to $21 a week. Just for my car!
