1121346 2010-07-22 11:00:00 you get imprezzas at queenstown, they are rented for tourists mainly for campers and backpackers with a 1500cc engine.

I can imagine with some of the geographic routes around there that you'd want the tourists as slow as possible!

1121347 2010-07-22 11:35:00 They make 'em that low? You could push it faster! Does the Speed limit -- So there shouldn't be a problem.

To many young drivers think they have to have a lot of power/speed - those are sometimes the ones who are no longer about (dead) because they cant handle it. You dont have to have a powerful car to get into trouble.

Nice looking car, take care of it (you mentioned oil change -- do it regularly when required by mileage and they last longer) drive sensibility and enjoy it.

I fully intend to. The excess is $1500 if I crash it! God, my age bracket sucks for insurance...

I've been running through a budget, and I'm left with pocket lint at the end of the week, but it's worth it!

1121349 2010-07-22 11:44:00 Guess I should add; the internal CD player (stock) doesn't like CD-R's, and it doesn't have a band-expander! grr, only one radio station :( ubergeek85 (131)
1121350 2010-07-22 11:46:00 Yeah that's pretty normal. :(

Save up a few bucks (www.trademe.co.nz)...:)

1121351 2010-07-22 11:48:00 Heh, dad's partner has a similar model in her car (but no mp3). Might be able to do a swap ;) ubergeek85 (131)
1121352 2010-07-22 12:15:00 At least it isn't the 1500...I have a 1500 Civic, and to be honest I find that to be more than enough - 1500 is plenty of grunt for almost any situation you're likely to encounter on NZ roads. No good for towing heavy stuff obviously, but as I rarely need to tow anything I don't see that as enough of a problem to care about - I'd rather have the efficiency. Erayd (23)
1121353 2010-07-22 12:33:00 A 1500 flat 4 subie boxer engine would be somewhat more gutless that a straight 4 I imagine... 105bhp rings a bell? Pretty sure your average nissan or honda 1500 has a bit more power. wratterus (105)

Pretty much.

Crown range + Integra Type R = would be a lot of fun if it wasn't for 50000000 camper vans.

5 of us packed into a 1500 non fwd impreza to go to Wanaka from Dunedin, that was not a quick trip.

1121355 2010-07-22 12:44:00 Auto, paid $3000 for it, '96, about 145k.

Went for it 'cos it's blardy tidy, well looked after too. Only needs a CV boot, and might be due for some new oil soon.

Sounds like a good deal :)
