| 1167206 | 2011-01-04 21:55:00 | I thought I would give the Windows 7 Backup a try but I can't open the Backup and Restore Center. Click on it but nothing happens. Any help appreciated. Thanks. | Pato (2463) | ||
| 1167207 | 2011-01-05 02:42:00 | I had Acronis True Image installed and uninstalled it using "Revo Uninstaller" perhaps I removed something from the Registry that has caused the problem with Win7 Backup. I am certain I was careful to only remove the 'Bold" entries. Is this the likely cause.? | Pato (2463) | ||
| 1167208 | 2011-01-05 03:58:00 | Have you tried rebooting after removing Acronis ? When you say it wont open -- any error message ? Edited: Have a read of this (social.answers.microsoft.com) |

Edited: Have a read of this (social.answers.microsoft.com)Yes, I have rebooted a couple of times. It just won't open. No error message nothing!! I only had this computer built a few months ago so it may not have been working from the start, as I have not bother with it up until I had my fill of Acronis. |

| 1167212 | 2011-01-05 07:50:00 | Did you run the instructions as per the linked article ---- scf /scannow ? Edited: have a read of THIS ARTICLE (www.sevenforums.com) At the end there is a fix for the reg. No idea if it will work or not, since I cant replicate your problem to test it. |

I had a look at them but I think they may be a bit beyond my limited computing ability. They would be simple to a professional such as yourself. I fear that I might make things worse. I guess I can do without a backup system eh.? |

| 1167214 | 2011-01-05 08:04:00 | I guess I can do without a backup system eh You sure can UNTIL something goes wrong, then you wish you had it. Not to sure If I read your answer correctly, but if you have not yet run sfc /scannow - do that as per the previous articles instructions. Its rare for that to cause more problems, normally it will either fix the problem or do nothing. |

I typed in the Run sfc /scannow and it just flashed, it wouldn't bring up the normal window. It may be a job for an expert.? Any other suggestions I can try.? It looks like some of the applications aren't working.? |
