1120807 2010-07-21 01:16:00 A new home (www.nzherald.co.nz), or whatever the term is for a nest of Telecomistas has a raft of reputedly eco-friendly features.
I am particularly impressed with their radiant cooling - that has to be good ;) All the gnomes can sit in the cool beams and chill out while ignoring physics and customers alike.
The light sensors that switch the internal lighting to suit the outside light seem like a scheme worthy of a new logo on it's own. A bored kid with a laser pointer could wander round the perimeter at night zapping sensors and puting the inmates just as much in the dark as their customers are.
I wonder what the energy quota of all these sensors running 24/7 will be? Will the phones work better? Will a new broadband plan save the day?

1120808 2010-07-21 01:58:00 I'm pretty sure most of the call centre staff, e.g. broadband help desk and technical support teams, are staying at the Mayoral Drive campus. pablo d (15490)

""We will be vacating four buildings in Auckland," she said."

Is Mayoral Drive the sort of building they'd be able to vacate anyway?

1120812 2010-07-21 03:35:00 ......................And we've installed an innovative air-conditioning system that's a New Zealand first - radiant chilled beams that cool via a combination of natural convection and radiant cooling, which will reduce draughts and requires less energy............

Perhaps they have found that the "Frigoric" theory of the fluid flow of cold does work after all and have developed it further.

If the knob is turned up a bit they will be able to freeze people in their tracks from a distance, after all, radiant cold travels at the speed of light.
