1122486 2010-07-26 12:06:00 "a sign that few books were being written in Maori"

Possibly because only a tiny percentage of the population wants to read or speak maori ???

Hey, if there was a market for it, someone would be exploiting it!

I ROTFLMAO'd... :D

1122487 2010-07-26 12:14:00 And this in Maori Language Week?

But then some want everyone to learn a version of Chinese as well apparently.

Esperanto became a dismal failure too as I remember it.

Large numbers leave school in New Zealand without being reasonably proficient in English also for that matter.

1122488 2010-07-26 12:32:00 just proves that the MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars spent on making all the road signs maori first language displayed.

Was, as so many said before it was done, a complete WASTE of TAXPAYERS MONEY.

Nope. PDFs don't count at all although I read those as well.

I could leave a book elsewhere for some other person to read but I would not want to leave my PC elsewhere or Laptop or Ebook reader or etc.

I hope you get the idea.

1122493 2010-07-26 19:11:00 It’s quite odd isn’t it?

The Maori kids Kids around our streets seem fluent in Anglo Saxon and have a substantial vocabulary of Anglo Saxon four letter words.

They show little interest in the Maori language.
