1124006 2010-08-02 19:54:00 As I said if you want to drink pints come to Nelson plenty of places sell by the pint. I could name 6-8 places off the top of my head right now but then I would have to kill you

Do they measure it to the last ml?!

1124007 2010-08-02 22:32:00 It was interesting some so called pints only contained around 450mlls of beer, I smell fair trading act here. Or consumer guarantee act.

After all a pint is a pint legal or not.

Not when it is an American (wet) pint, but nearly so when it is an American dry pint.......but I've never drunk American dry beer...............

You said it, the "Pints" are only so called pints and only refer to a biggish glass with no defined volume. If your local is losing money they could legally change all their glasses to smaller ones. The attitude seems to be the customer knows the price and can see the glass so it's their choice whether to accept it or not. Maybe like supermarkets the price should indicate how much per 100mls :D

1124012 2010-08-06 11:17:00 I can buy pints where I am, at the moment (St. Albans, UK) and I do:thumbs:
City of pubs and churches. 160 pubs here; some outstanding, some OK, some not worth the time of day.
We're supposed to be back in NZ in a fortnight, with that sort of nonsense, should I bother?
Where to this afternoon; Peahen, Black Lion, maybe the White Hart:lol: All within a few minutes walk from my son's place.

Hope you have tried some Black Sheep or maybe some Theakstons instead of trying all that week kneed Lager

So right, so right:D Tried Adnams, Landlord, Red Squirrel, Tanglefoot etc etc. When we drive out into the country we always sample the local brews. Good ales and bitters. Try to get naturally brewed (traditional) ones too.
But in fairness to Lager, we were in Ghent for a few days, right in the middle of their summer festival and Belgium, being the home of lager, we had to try some; really good - Hoegaarden, Leffe, Grimbergen:thumbs:
