1123687 2010-08-01 12:26:00 this device is mains in 12 ~ 24 OUT

Read the descriptions, and look at the photos, they both have seperate 12v inputs, next to the 110-240v input, and the second one states that it can handle 24v input too.

Input: AC 110V`240V 50-60HZ/1.3A (max), DC12V
Adjustable output: 12V/15V/16V/18V/19V 5A (max)/20V/22V/24V 4A (max), USB: 5V/1A

And the second one:

AC 110V~240V power input
DC 12~24V car cigarette power socket adapter included
Outputs: 12V/15V/16V/18V/19V/20V/22V/24V
Features a 5V USB power port for charging USB devices

Best I confirm with the bus company before I make any purchases!

There is one way since its a rugby piss trip.
Borrow a 6 cylinder sized lead acid car battery and make a wooden box for it put on the floor under the next seat.
Run inverter and lap top adaptor from battery, take a battery charger to charge at the motel you are staying at.
Maybe if you know who owns the bus ask them to run a wire from the battery compartment thru a window to your seat they can pick 12vdc from the 24vdc system.
You may not have enough time to use the lappie as you undoubtedly will be playing drinking games.
You will need a minimum of 100watt inverter dont get one of those small ones they are under stress an burn out.
Beware of negative dip***** who tell you cant do this you cant do that.

Prefect - my piss drinking rugby bus trip days are well behind me. This is an age grade rep team and there won't be any of the normal shenanigans on this trip. Better chance of getting Powerade spilled all over the electrical gear!!!

1123690 2010-08-02 14:26:00 I don't think I'd bother with any of that junk on Trademe.

A friend of mine bought one, it was complete rubbish.
When the power LED didn't even work, I opened it and found the build quality to be terrible.

The LED had been soldered in (partially) with leads that were too long, as such when the case was put together, the resultant force on the LED broke one solder joint and ripped the pad off on the other side. It worked fine after I did it properly though.

The rest of it was incredibly cheap design, cheap parts, crap soldering, and the thing didn't even work on his laptop anyway (the plug was too cheap and didn't make proper contact with the socket)
