| 1168372 | 2011-01-09 13:58:00 | The noises go away when I change Power Plan settings in Win7 to Powersaver, and if I stick it to Balanced... it only makes the noise as I make movements with the mouse whilst browsing... and it I set it on High Performance the noise is constant. Is the 500W Coolermaster PSU that came with my Coolermaster 600 series case not powerful enough to run my i5 750 + GTX460 or is it just faulty? |

| 1168374 | 2011-01-09 22:27:00 | How old is the PSU ... and how much dust have the fan blades accumulated ? Maybe it just needs a good blowout to clear the dust out ... worth trying & costs nothing. | SP8's (9836) | ||

| 1168376 | 2011-01-10 07:24:00 | PSU is less than a week old. Fan's fine... the sound is quite apparent on bootup when the PSU is accessing the HDDs. It sounds like a modem AlexB, you're not far off I think... quite sure it's either the capacitors or coils, from what i've read elsewhere on the web. RMA o'clock methinks |
