| 1169602 | 2011-01-13 22:29:00 | Hi there, Does this laptop represent good value? I need it for university stuff (mainly word processing and officey stuff), general entertainment stuff, skype etc. Don't mind it being slightly over spec'd, but I really do not want a dud. Especially regarding batt. life. old.pbtech.co.nz Also, so I know if the price I was quoted is a good price - what would you value this laptop at currently? Thanks |

| 1169606 | 2011-01-14 01:06:00 | I'd go for a Netbook for Uni, could get 3 netbooks for that price and the battery would be hours longer, not to mention they're lighter and better for carrying around between classes. It's not a *bad* price, but Ive just traded in my macbook for one of these: pbtech.co.nz Freakin *stoked* with it!! |

But with their small screens, are you sure they'd be the best option when you have to write documents etc? It's not a *bad* price, but Ive just traded in my macbook for one of these: pbtech.co.nz Freakin *stoked* with it!! Really!? You replaced a macbook with a presario? I always thought macbooks were high end premium machines and the only comparable PC notebooks are premium business notebooks (thinkpads, elitebooks etc) and HP Envy/XPS/Alienware. I always thought presarios were the lowest end/race to the bottom value machines. If you're happy with it, then they can't be that bad :) |

| 1169608 | 2011-01-14 03:09:00 | Yeah it was great, the keyboard is supposedly 95% of the size of a regular keyboard, but I didn't care, it was fine, and meant that I wasn't having to battle for a power port like everybody else was. I used it for around 4-8 hours a day.... After my 6-month stint at Uni, I believe there was somewhere around 8 more people in my class alone who'd purchased Netbooks just for that very reason :D The HP gear has improved significantly in the last 12-18 months I've found, definitely been impressed with the latest stream ... The Macbook was nice, long battery life, don't get me wrong, but there was a whole lotta other things that just really annoyed me with it, so I traded the battery life for a more powerful machine that I'm pretty much 100% happy with, except I miss MagSafe, that should be standard on *all* laptops! |
