1125290 2010-08-08 04:06:00 Man how many music threads do we have to have from you?

So you like Benny Hills etc and artists who look saggy or are skeletons by now. That's been established since like ages ago.

In the words of Al Johnson...You Ain't Heard Nothin' Yet :)

Back in the early 50s, Guy Mitchell was endlessly thrust into our ears via BBC Light Programme (there was no commercial radio then in the UK except for Radio Luxembourg on 208 metres)

He appeared also with Mitch Millers band, Mitch Miller died a few days ago aged 99. If you can play .ram links
(Real Audio or Alternative) then here are some links:

'cause I Love You, That's A-why (www.jazz-on-line.com)
(with Mindy Carson and Mitch Miller Orchestra)

Belle Belle My Liberty Bell (www.jazz-on-line.com)

She Wears Red Feathers (www.jazz-on-line.com)

Then from a bit earlier there was Johhny Ray crying his eyes out, and all the teenage girls screamed and tore their clothes off.............www.youtube.com

Edit: there's heaps of Guy Mitchell on YouTube

1125295 2010-08-10 14:29:00 I bought a dvd yesterday called "TOP OF THE POPS: 40TH ANNIVERSARY 1964-2004" it has one song from each year.

here are some of my favorites that are on it (HUGE MIXTURE!):

Wannabe (www.youtube.com) (very catchy, though the kind of song you hate to like) - 1996/97

Don't You Wan't Me? (www.youtube.com) The Human League (this song is in a league of its own) - 1981

Long Live Love (www.youtube.com) Sandy Shaw - 1965

Sorry (www.youtube.com) The Hollies - 1969

Get It On (Bang A Gong) (www.youtube.com) T-REX -1971

1125296 2010-08-10 19:10:00 I think anything by The Hollies is just great . They were musical madmen and could really double-meaning a lot of lyrics .

One of my favorite groups was The Edgar Winter's Group and their rendition of Frankenstein .

Frankenstein: Edgar Winters Group ( . grooveshark . com/#/s/Frankenstein/2MCzd8" target="_blank">listen . grooveshark . com)

T . Rex also did 'Bang A Gong' on the US TV show: Midnight Special, while the whole band was totally loaded and wasted . The drummer appears to be straight though - look at him staring at the female back-up singers, not even believing what he's seeing and hearing!

Bang A Gong: T . Rex ( . youtube . com/watch?v=HdHkaKGgTcg" target="_blank">www . youtube . com)

Remember: Redbone?

Come And Get Your Love: Redbone ( . youtube . com/watch?v=Dj0drevGOgA" target="_blank">www . youtube . com)

And Steely Dan?

Hey, Nineteen: Steely Dan ( . youtube . com/watch?v=YzfwtX2kgOA&feature=related" target="_blank">www . youtube . com)

. . . and then again these guys?
Surrender: Cheap Trick ( . youtube . com/watch?v=LqB9lhHqmsE" target="_blank">www . youtube . com)
