| 1169690 | 2011-01-16 21:24:00 | DVD decrypter is no longer updated and doesn't work for everything, same for DVD shrink which I think is the easier to use of the two. Both incidentally work under Win7 64 bit. Another tool is Ripit4me which is just actually a front end for other free tools that simplifies things. (uses DVD decrypter, Vobsub, DVD shrink, and I think 1 other program). As for having the right to back up your DVD's in New Zealand, heres a quote from consumer: "So what about DVDs and downloaded movies? Currently the Copyright Act doesn't allow for you to make copies of movies in the same way as music. This may change in the future but currently making copies of movies as back-ups or to watch on a portable device is illegal. And movies should only be downloaded from legal online stores." www.consumer.org.nz Many people seem to quote American laws as if they apply here. |
