| 1124425 | 2010-08-04 00:37:00 | I doubt they want to come back and keep risk perception in check, around 6 people die on our roads every week and yet we tolerate that as necessary! | Battleneter2 (9361) | ||
| 1124426 | 2010-08-04 00:37:00 | So, you expect our 'defence force' should go to attack /invade other countries like the US? Just to keep them busy??????????????? No. However I do expect them to go where they are sent and if you want them to attack / invade a country like the US I suspect they would come off second best. Perhaps you meant to say "like the US does." |

| 1124427 | 2010-08-04 00:48:00 | It's been a long time since NZ has had any real battle-hardened troops ... hard fact, but if ever we had to fight on our own soil, I'd appreciate some guys knowing what they're doing. Personally ... send Willy and his SAS mates back in to sort out the sh!tz that killed our guy. Also, we've got no bloody airforce so we'd HAVE to rely on Oz, US, UK to give us air support ... maybe some of our ex-air force pilots will be flying them !! Navy ... well their Oz built ships ... how long do you expect them to float for ?? |

Add up all the fatal accidents that happened when the Army was using Unimog trucks. I've read somewhere that some US army units lose more soldiers in civilian traffic accidents near their US home base than in active service. |

Sound advice Squire I guess tv 1 and 3 will trotting out the scum sucking commies and greenies tonight saying we should withdraw from Afghanistan. I reckon we should stay because of the killing not leave until we have waxed a few hundred insurgents. They shouldnt just let the SAS have the joy of killing these people the regular army should get a good go at them to get some revenge. Revenge killings are always good. |

If that means you get in the way of high explosive or a bullet then that's the rub of the day. If NZ were to be invaded I guess you would want our Allies to step in and help would you not? I agree it's probably a useless conflict but that's not the point really. +1 |

| 1124433 | 2010-08-04 03:32:00 | Do THEY want to be there? Yes. NZ army is voluntary, so are overseas missions. If they didn't want to go, they could have said no. The reality is our defence force is so small that, all of these people have to compete very hard for the seats, they work hard to get in to see the world and shoot a few people. They have worked very hard to get into the likes of the SAS, do you think they did it for the fun of it? |
