1125401 2010-08-30 06:28:00 Anyone who judges their musical taste on the 'top 40' kinda doesn't hold any ground.

1125402 2010-08-30 06:59:00 Nick Lucas -- Gibson made a guitar named for him.

Kate Smith WAS the moon that came over the mountain. I despised her. Still do, even though she's long-ago dead.

Red Nichols & His Five Pennies - remember them well.

Guy Lumbago. Uh huh.

Maurice Chevalier, thank heaven he's gone - he was also French.

Ethel Waters was my neighbor in Pasadena when I lived there. Nice lady.

Those were different times though.

1125405 2010-08-31 05:08:00 "Pink Floyd" is a group of 4 musicians (5 in 1965 and early 1968) consisting of Syd Barrett (left mid-1968) David Gilmour (joined early-1968) Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason and Bob Klose (left late-1965) goodiesguy (15316)

1125407 2010-08-31 05:20:00 Syd Barrett was sacked in 1965 for being high on LSD all the time, even when playing on stage. He became a liability.

1125408 2010-08-31 05:26:00 No, he was left home in 1968 due to LSD and not being 'all with it'. as he wrote and peformed most of the songs on their debut Album "Piper at the the gates of dawn" from 1967. He also wrote and sung lead on their first 3 singles "Arnold Layne" "See Emily Play" & "Apples and Oranges" both from 1967. He was also on their second album "A saucerful of secrets" and recorded 2 songs for it "Scream Thy Last Scream" & "Vegetable Man". They were left off and the only song completly by him on that album is "Jugband Blues".

He had 2 solo albums, first "The Madcap Laughs" in 1968 with a hit single "octopus" and then a second album "Barrett" in 1970.

1125409 2010-08-31 06:14:00 I meant to say 1968 he was sacked. I have on DVD either David Gilmore or Roger Waters saying that.
