1170388 2011-01-17 02:02:00 I am having a problem with the display of web pages in some Browsers. One particular page displays Ok in Firefox 3.6.13 and IE8, but with Google Chrome, Opera 9+, and Firefox 4 the font reduces size and only fills half the page.
I have tried using styles & font size="3", makes no difference. Maybe its because I am no longer using tables, in favour of divisions??

Any help to preserve my sanity would be appreciated!

I know nothing about it except for using CSS. Are you? The logo(s) look horrible to me. And the orange lettering. All spotty.

The width is set at 1152px. If you have to scroll, your resolution is probably 800x600 which is now usually only used in Notebooks with small screen. The graphics will pix-elate and you will have to scroll.

You can use Ctrl + or - to adjust the width to your screen.

I have now managed to figure out a way to keep the main browsers happy, and will modify any bad pages. As to using 100% for width, it works fine on conventional desk top screens where the height width ratio is constant, but on a wide, shallow screen it looks terrible.

The problem is the font size difference between the Browsers, rather than the resolution.

1024x768 is still fairly common.

The banner is pixelated as well

1170393 2011-01-20 00:26:00 I have found the answer to the font size variation between Browsers. Use 'px' instead of 'pt' in the style sheets. All browsers including Opera display the font size the same. mzee (3324)
