| 1170655 | 2011-01-18 22:01:00 | From memory I saw on the web site that it was still in beta but apparently stable. I have downloaded and installed beta version 1.5.36 which was released on 24 December. I had to go into the forum to find the link to download the programme. Only had a play with it so far. I have some recorded TV in mpg format on my hard disk which do not play thru nPVR. They do play on VLC so it could be a codex problem. I will post on their forum. |

| 1170656 | 2011-01-18 22:26:00 | My tuner card is hardware and outputs to MPEG2 - I had to get a codec for GB-PVR to display it. I think you need a codec for GB-PVR for a lot of things |

| 1170657 | 2011-01-26 10:48:00 | I installed the Hauppauge HVR3300HD today. Easy to insert the card but I had to rush down to Dick Smith to get some coax cable. I plugged the coax into the TV top box LNB Out and then into the TV Tuner. The top box works as a splitter so I can watch one channel on TV and watch or record another on the computer at the same time. Setting up was quite simple. I needed to name the satellite as Optus D1. The setup loaded in all channels including sky channels. Non encrypted (freeview) channels were automatically ticked and these became favourites. The Sky channels were automatically discarded. A programme called WinTV v7 came on the disk. This allows me to watch live TV and recorded TV on the computer screen. To record a programme you use scheduler. This automatically records the programme onto hard disk so you can replay it on your computer. I have done a trial run and recordings and replay work fine. Codecs appear to come with the software. |
