1127259 2010-08-13 10:18:00 It makes sense. A financial punishment (ie fine) relative to income will hurt any person equally, or at least more equally than a fixed fine. Why would a $million/year earner care about a $200 speeding ticket?
exactly. i probably see more middle aged drivers in late model vehicles driving badly than any other. whats a $90-200 fine to them.....nothing.
whats a $200 fine to million $$ company.......

it would be interesting to see what the fine would be if its based on income and its owned by a big billion $$ corporate...... ;)

He should have been driving in Oxford instead.

thats fairly predicable. any rule that is not enforced is ignored.

That raises another issue altogether, as the ticket is issued to the driver, regardless of owner. Funny story actually. I got pulled over for doing 111km/h (whoops!) on the Desert Rd some months ago and ticketed. My car is owned by my company. The ticket was sent to me personally, and then I got a letter addressed to my company saying that "one of my employees" was caught speeding and ticketed :p

1127261 2010-08-14 05:24:00 At 220km/h the power poles are flashing past like fenceposts do at 100km/h... (from my misspent youth on a Yamaha XJ900 - god, I miss that bike!)
I remember it being more like battens on a fence.

1127262 2010-08-14 05:26:00 I know how you feel, last bike before destroying life and getting married I had Kawka Z900A4 bored out to 1100.
Sometimes like on Brass Monkey run with boys the throttle would go in auto throttle mode and stick on those long empty roads in the South Island
I had a Z1 with Bassani 4into1 exhaust on it. Plenty of adrenalin rushes with that bike.

1127263 2010-08-14 09:45:00 Z900A4 was detuned version of Z1, smaller carbs and double front disk.
I threw the original carbs into the rubbish tin as soon as I got the bike.
I had a 4 into 1 wasnt a flash tuned one, got it rechromed at a place that made hinges etc for kitchens. Had pretty minimal baffle. Never sounded as good as my Commando whistling exhausts

I couldn't believe the difference the Bassani pipes made. Makes me realise what a bunch of wallies these guy's are that have these big exhausts on their cars. All mouth and no trousers.
