1169987 2011-01-16 01:02:00 When using my PC for anything, through both my headphones and speakers I hear a buzzing sound. Turning the volume up of games/music masks this, but in the menus and when paused I can still hear this. It changes as I do actions in the game/with Windows, which is very weird. Any idea of how to get rid of it? darthcarnate (14113)
1169988 2011-01-16 01:15:00 Using on board sound? Have found this problem myself, especially on older motherboards (ineffective filtering of system noise?).
Try getting a separate sound card.

1169991 2011-01-16 05:41:00 Something to try - may or may not work. If you have Realtek Audio -
Open the Realtek Audio Manager and click on the Mixer tab.
under Playback section locate the "PC Beep" option, then Mute.

It could also be static interference from somewhere, esp if you have headphones/Speakers plugged in the front port.

1169992 2011-01-18 22:42:00 Using onboard sound on a fairly good quality Gigabyte motherboard, with Realtek HD.
@wainuitech: can't find the Mixer tab/PC beep in Realtek HD controls, and my headphones and speakers are plugged in the rear ports.
@SP8: Closing WLM doesn't solve it :(

1169993 2011-01-18 22:43:00 It's omnipresent in the background atm, but scrolling up and down this page makes a louder buzz. darthcarnate (14113)
1169994 2011-01-18 22:52:00 I had that on another PC. Scrolling with the mouse wheel would make a low hum ... What kinda mouse you have?

I never did find a solution :-/

1169996 2011-01-18 22:58:00 Logitech laser wireless something or other. I don't think the mouse is the issue though :( darthcarnate (14113)
