| 1126278 | 2010-08-10 19:49:00 | Well, that was close to a 50% hit rate. There's video somewhere of a kiwi cop trying to stop a dog. 6 shots fired at close range... all missed! Therein lies the problem with tasers - even worse accuracy than a pistol, and only a single shot in the barrel... and useless unless both barbs hit the target. I'd still be concerned for Police safety if they are banking on saving themselves with a taser. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be carrying a lethal weapon if I was outnumbered and overpowered, so perhaps they are ultimately safer unarmed. Will we next be burying cops who were overpowered and then killed with their own weapon? |
