1171396 2011-01-21 07:27:00 I recently saw a old logitech g15 keyboard (2years old approx the one with the blue lights) and was really impressed by it and it's fancy cpu lcd screen. When going to look a purchasing one (online) I found that they no longer made that type of g15 a had replaced it with another one that i didn't like so much. Anyway i am on the search for a gaming keyboard that has a fancy lcd screen that tells you important stuff and has blue lights. Recommendations plz. icow (15313)
1171397 2011-01-21 07:46:00 I have had a Logitech G15 v1 like the one you mentioned and just recently replaced it with a Logitech G510.

I looked at the G19 but could not justify the price.

1171398 2011-01-21 12:14:00 Over rated... MAJORLY over rated.

The only usefull feature is the clock, and with a clock in the task bar it is only usefull when the taskbar isn't visible (i.e. when gaming) and I can use a watch or my cell phone.

In games like crysis it shows your ammo and health, but if you actually take a moment to look at it you will likely be shot so its about as usefull as tits on a bull.

It has programmable "G" keys but there is way too many (the newer one has less) and I found that I never use them for Gaming and occasionally used them for work, but there are plenty of scripting programs that wll do the same thing so they are also fairly pointless, might be usefull for some of the MMOs like WOW but I never play MMOs.

I had the old style G15, don't like the new orange one.

1171401 2011-01-21 21:22:00 The G15 original (discontinued, but might find one 2nd hand), and it's most recent incarnation the G510, are brilliant gaming keyboards. Be aware both are native USB keyboards, so they suffer the standard USB HID's limitation of 6 simultaneous key presses.

If you don't care about the LCD, then any of Logitech's G-series keyboards, or any of Razer's keyboards, are brilliant.

Personally, I love the LCD on my G15 (original), but most of the games I play are more RPG oriented and it's great to have key stats available at a glance that would otherwise require you to open multiple character sheets etc.

I am seriously considering a G510, though, or a Razer Black Widow Ultimate if I can give up the LCD... *grin*

1171404 2011-01-21 22:42:00 I have not regretted replacing my G15 v1 with the G510. DeSade (984)
1171405 2011-01-21 23:18:00 @ snork box: Important stuff = cpu temps & usage, ram usage (and all other stuff useful for benchmarking computers e.g fps) and in game things like, ammo, health, resources, money etc etc.

@ Desade the G510 looks the way to go. They're a bit cheaper on TM: www.trademe.co.nz I agree that the g19 is not at a justifiable price.

@ pctek is there any major difference between the g510 & the g110 (apart from the lcd screen).
