1171337 2011-01-21 01:40:00 Its probably DDR3-800 SODIMM ram. I would just take the laptop into a PC shop. Then show them the stick of ram, thats already installed in it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1171338 2011-01-21 01:45:00 Thanks. would I be able to do a 1066mHz or 1333mHz? Would it still work? Otherwise would DDR2 work? dpDesignz (15919)
1171339 2011-01-21 01:54:00 DDR2 will not work. 1066 and 1333 should work, but may run at the lower clockspeed of 800 if mixed with existing ddr3-800, or even if replacing the existing then it may be limited by the memory controller on the board. inphinity (7274)
1171340 2011-01-21 01:56:00 Get CPUZ. That may tell you the max speed. Dont think you'll be able to use DDR 2 ram tho. Even if it supported 1066 or 1333 ram, the celeron CPU thats in it wouldnt make it any faster Speedy Gonzales (78)
1171341 2011-01-21 02:01:00 Ok I have the choice of these two. www.ec.kingston.com or www.ec.kingston.com Which would you recomend be better? dpDesignz (15919)
1171342 2011-01-21 02:12:00 Looks like it may support 1066 but not 1333 ram Speedy Gonzales (78)
1171343 2011-01-21 02:20:00 That's funny becaues I was just recommended to use 1333 ram over on the compter lounge forum. :). Hmm. Any input from anyone else? dpDesignz (15919)
1171344 2011-01-21 02:25:00 Well in most cases using higher speed ram will just result in it scaling down its performance to the slower speed. Other times, it'll throw a sicky and crash or not work properly. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1171345 2011-01-21 02:31:00 True if it doesnt support that speed it'll step down to 800. So really no point getting it anyway Speedy Gonzales (78)
