| 1128554 | 2010-08-17 00:58:00 | Has anyone seen the new cool checkout automated machines they have placed at Countdown. This allows the customer to checkout the items they have / going to purchase do it themselves. I would say, what a smart way of getting rid of the staff and making the customers do the job. I love technology but imagine if every company in NZ placed machines to do the job in place of humans, imagine 90% of people in NZ will have no jobs..... wow .... :annoyed: |

At the Mangere East Pack N Save in Auckland they chain your trolley to the checkout so that you can't slip out with out paying . Only after you pay do they release the trolley . Don't shop there anymore . . Tried this technology at Taradale in Napier back in January but it was only on two checkouts . The rest were normal manual ones . . Real cool tech though . . |
