| 1128433 | 2010-08-16 16:31:00 | . . . and I'm tossing food into the water for the fish and up pops a juvenile rattle snake . :eek: I dislike immature rattlers since they haven't learned to minimize the amount of venom they use and they are the most likely to kill a human . Even dogs and farm animals die from their bites every season . Pigs however are immune to their bites and they will actually kill snakes and eat them for snacks . Needless to say he had to go . Actually - 'headless' he had to go . And he did . Kinda unnerving to find a rattler that close to my bare feet in slippers and me not EVEN expecting it to pop up from in the water . |

My next shipment of Cherry KoolAid will contain some rattlesnake eggs then . Who wants the next care package? Youse guys got life too easy if there's not an element of life-or-death when you go outside and feed your fishes . One day I stepped outside off a porch and right onto a full-growed rattler - right smack-dab on it's head so it never had a chance to bite me . It did - HOWEVER - wrap itself tightly around my leg and was thrashing about quite so . Unnerved me just a bit . :eek: The next immediate thought in my mind was 'how to I UNstep off of it?' I'm not fast enough even in my prime lightning-boy speed days to get away fast enough without getting bit . In the words of the late-great Richard Pryor speaking about setting his 'Fro on fire whilst free-basing: "Sometimes you can be motivated" - and I was since I am here to talk about it . |
