After putting it down, wipe out the ant trail from 100mm past the ant killer all the way to the cat's bowl with something like Spray&Wipe, that will keep them focussed on the poison. Top up the ant killer until they finish and take away all their dead mates, after which the nest should be dead as well. Then stop leaving cat food around as suggested by others. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 1128856 | 2010-08-18 10:11:00 | Thanks BillyT,keep poisoning the ants, will try to follow the trail You don't have to follow it too far, if it disappears down a crack just put the poison there. Ants are blind so they can only follow their own trail, though it beats me how they find the food in the first place, they have very small noses. :D You only have to drag your finger across the trail to send them off in confusion, (it is fun messing with their tiny minds) but they really are very clever and soon find the path again. That's why I recommend Spray & Wipe, it really stops them dead and gives your new bait a fair chance of holding their attention. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
