1172828 2011-01-27 01:48:00 Hi,

Have had recent talk with my brother who cannot get the above to install in his W 7 home premium

I thought I was correct when I said that version would not support XP programs as does my W 7 Pro

Being a a younger sibling he reckoned I was wrong, (as in our youthful days) --now I am proved correct ---seeeee! ;-)

Is there any way he can use this program, as, although they have Speech recognition in their w 7, brother wanted to leave that to his wife and keep his sucessful account with Dragon-- ( he has a furry voice - as I do, which does not come out as clear as his wife's higher pitch, so teaching the speech program to read only his voice was hard- except in Dragon v9.

I maintain W 7 also would have two or more accounts, each to their own pecularities-- so this is not a fatal flaw :banana

1172829 2011-01-27 02:01:00 Dont know about W7 using it, unless it is the newer versions. This should do it (shop.nuance.com)

I know one customer of mine got Vista when it first came out (on a compaq), and she tried to use the the current version that worked fine on XP in Vista --- What a disaster - damn thing would only work a fraction of the time, wouldn't do what it was meant to. She contacted Nuance to get advise and all they would say was she needed a new version.

In the end she went with the built in Windows Version, and to this day is still using it.

1172830 2011-01-28 01:48:00 From memory Dragon v10.1 was the first version to have full support for Windows 7 32 & 64 bit, so you are out of luck trying to run anything previous to that.

The price of dragon dropped with the release of v11 last year, so you can upgrade to that from v9 for a pretty reasonable cost.

Let me know if you have any other questions - I know dragon pretty well.
