| 1172552 | 2011-01-25 18:49:00 | Hi all. Now that I'm back in nz I'm going to take my laptop in to get fixed (under warranty hopefully). I just checked the hp spares catalogue and they no longer stock the original processor, instead they say to order a different one. From memory they were exactly the same except the new CPU had a much lower fsb clock rate. I think it was 1800MHz whilst the original was 3600MHz (see processors on this page partsurfer.hp.com) how much our a performance impact would this have on my computer? Its getting old and is starting to show it in terms of performance. Sorry if I have already asked this. I have a strange recollection that I already have :p Cheers and tia. :pf1mobmini: |

Its very similar so I'm assuming it will take it on the chin and either use it fine or install drivers on boot, but then again, perhaps not. :pf1mobmini: |
