1172275 2011-01-24 10:38:00 Add them under tools / message rules / blocked senders list. Not sure if you can use wildcards tho (one site says you cant, another says you can) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1172276 2011-01-24 22:54:00 Would you be able to block a domain? Bobh (5192)
1172277 2011-01-24 23:11:00 I tried this that this morning as per Speedy. Will wait & see now. PJ Poppa John (284)
1172278 2011-01-24 23:26:00 You can block a domain using Outlook express but I believe it will only block if the sender is using a POP account. Does not work if the sender is using IMAP apparently. Snorkbox (15764)

I think it is the other way around.
If the account being setup to block senders is an IMAP account it will not work.

Anyway with blocking senders or domains you still have to download the emails, they just go into the Trash folder instead of the Inbox.
Blocking sender is a waste of time for managing spam and blocking domains can cause you to miss genuine emails.

Easier just to delete them as they come in.

No, your post was in regard to the sender's account settings, which are irrelevant when it comes to blocking emails being received in a standard mail client.

1172282 2011-01-25 01:25:00 OK. I guess I misread the info I was given. Snorkbox (15764)
1172283 2011-01-25 01:40:00 Seems the big problem is using an email provider with a bad spam filter.

Move to a gmail account and your spam will be stopped at the gmail server. The gmail filter is exceptionally good.
