| 1172048 | 2011-01-25 05:58:00 | I have a garmin 255 which I got from Harv's for $149 when the Nelson store opened and they were that again at chissy. has everything you need and lets be fair, Nelson isn't a big place. You won't need it for long. you have underestimated my direction idiocy my friend...I have lived in palmy for 4 years now, and I only know the following places: Massey pck n slave the plaza home 1 of my other friends home and the gym... I am quiet amazed that I survived that long and I still get lost easily....I am not going to imagine how bad it will be when I first come to nelson..... |

| 1172055 | 2011-01-25 19:34:00 | I use the TomTom which works for me when visiting centres away from home. It was brilliant in Christchurch for finding my way around. I have had it for over two years now. I keep getting offers to update my New Zealand map for AU$79.95 (usually AU$99.95) till 31 Jan 11. In Invercargill I have worked out the shortest and easiest way to get to work using local knowledge. I tested the Tom Tom and it directed me to use a similar route which is more difficult. When doing what Tom Tom tells me I find myself having to unnecessarily negotiate stop and giveway signs. It does not send me down a shorter bypass route but directs me through the town centre. Invercargill I find is an easy place to find your way around using a map. Nelson is only slightly larger than Invercargill. I use my Tom Tom only when travelling out of town. This appeared in the Stuff site (www.stuff.co.nz)this morning. |
