1172669 2011-01-26 09:49:00 Hmm what firewalls have been installed on this, or were on this? lol well the guy PMed the fix. I have no idea what the fix was

What if you get _KB2478935 manually then try and install it as well the spam filter? Unless the folders (or one of them exist in c:\windows\softwaredistribution folder?)

1172671 2011-01-26 10:00:00 this may help (computerhelpforums.net)

Go to start / run type regedit, find Package_for_KB2478935~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.0.1. 0 (the error youre getting), then delete every instance of it.

Then try windowsupdate again, see if it works. I can check it out with teamviewer if you want send me an ID and pw in a PM

1172676 2011-01-26 22:45:00 Sweet GJ  Fix was to delete every entry in the registry (re: the error, as mentioned) then go back to WU again, and check for updates. I backed up the entries I deleted just in case. Dont think you need them now, the update would have re-added them Speedy Gonzales (78)
1172677 2011-01-26 23:02:00 no worries.
