1129661 2010-08-20 04:39:00 Blackberry smartphone with 20 key keyboard so either 2 letters. The RIM algorithms are designed to work with the full word in order to decide what you wrote. So all my texts and e-mail are written in full! SolMiester (139)
1129662 2010-08-20 04:51:00 Tried predictive text before, found it annoying more than anything. pcuser42 (130)
1129663 2010-08-20 05:38:00 Use predictive and can text blind with it, as I know what words default on my phone.

The idea of using text language makes me want to go and have a shower... it's so filthy!

I refuse to reply to people who send me messages in it. If you can't be bothered putting the effort in to spelling a whole word, why should I bother to correspond with you?

P.S. Woohoo, it's Friday!

1129664 2010-08-20 05:58:00 Good to see you have worked out how these work.

I do take a wee bit longer than some as you have guessed. What I do do, is take and use the parts that are reasonably easy and make sense to me and leave the parts, such as:

I lyk pred txt cuz it use rl wurdz n maks 4a ezr readn n shud b gud 4 techn tha kidz rl lngo

to other people who are more comfortable with that than I.

While the above may be quicker for the author, I find it very hard and slow to read and would rather have proper English.

1129665 2010-08-20 07:22:00 I use predictive text routinely, but I'm guilty of taking insufficient notice of the words it comes up with (plus my keypad has some dodgy keys which also screw it up), so at times I've sent some horribly messed up text. On odd occasions the message has taken a very inappropriate direction through my lack off attention.

However, I hate texting 'longhand' and I hate the txt lingo shorthand (and lack the imagination to cre8 it)(like that).

Hmm I note the cellphone icon is showing in the panel to the right (on the compose page). Does the code pop up the most recently used assortment, or has it always been there?

1129666 2010-08-20 07:43:00 I think some people are confusing predictive texting with text talk. I refuse to abbreviate words when texting.

I do use predictive text as I find it more convenient. You really need to proof read what you have entered before sending though! One thing that bugs me, is my predictive text software gives 'nun' as a first option instead of 'mum'. :illogical

1129667 2010-08-20 07:44:00 I use predictive exclusively now that my phone is trained so to speak, I refuse to use txt spk and only reply to those that do with the stock message please use the English language and not some foreign jargon that no one understands :devil gary67 (56)
1129668 2010-08-20 09:14:00 Predictive Text = :eek::eek::eek: Yuk, Yuk, Yuk!

My partner uses it, and I hate texting from her phone because of it, I too can text blind, and well predictive text mucks that up and is just plain AWFUL.

I can't believe the Yes' are leading

That was part of my point, and I agree totally :)
