| 1172260 | 2011-01-25 01:40:00 | So his PC can detect that it's an audio CD but it just plays silence? ? I don't know. he's not terribly clear on what exactly happens. Just said it won't play. Does in standalone players. It doesn't recognise it - how exactly, don't know - what error - don't know. |

| 1172261 | 2011-01-25 21:16:00 | You really need more detail to get an accurate answer. I've never used Audio CDR's as they cost more and offer no advantage over normal CDR. I believe the purpose was for stand alone consumer appliances and possibly copy protection so the disc type could be an issue, burn a cheap normal CDR the same way and see what happens - they cost less than $1. Also a frustrating thing is some discs and some drives simply don't get along with each other, changing media brand can often fix problems like this. A bit of perserverance with audio software can be worthwhile as well, never alter the original wav files (ie save your efforts as a new file) but you can remove much of the noise from records with a bit of trial and error especially any continuos background noise like rumble or crackle. Pops require quite a bit more effort and are best edited out manually by cutting out a tiny amount of the waveform (auto filters seldom get them very well) |
