| 1172235 | 2011-01-24 07:04:00 | Hi, I have just removed Norton and installed Eset NOD32 Antivirus (yey!) but I have a problem. My wife and I both have wireless devices that we use to browse the internet (she has an iPod touch and I have an android phone) via our wireless access point. This has stopped working since I installed the new antivirus and I can't for the life of me find a setting to allow this connection. Can anyone help? |

| 1172236 | 2011-01-24 07:06:00 | weird . . . installing an antivirus shouldn't have anything to do with your wireless access . tried restarting the router/AP? | ronyville (10611) | ||

| 1172238 | 2011-01-24 07:11:00 | If its the Straight Antivirus, and not the Smart Security, then it wont be Nod causing the problem. It more than likely will be some remains of Norton stopping it. Try downloading the Norton Removal Tool (us.norton.com) - run it, and see if that helps. |

| 1172239 | 2011-01-24 07:12:00 | Unless its the security suite which inc the firewall mmmmmm yea but the ipod touch and android wouldnt be connecting to the PC for the wireless. they would be connecting directly to the access point. |

Which means its nothing to do with the Antivirus . Could be a fault on the router - straight coincidence it stopped working when Norton was removed from the PC's . Do the computers connect ? |

When I killed NOD it was to do with the HTTP part of it. Go into NOD and click setup, then Entire Advanced Setup Tree. Theres a listing - Web Access Protection. Subcategory, HTTP etc. Something in here perhaps? Disable it in NOD altogether then try your devices and see if they can then connect. That will tell you if it is NOD or not. |

So, does that mean that I will need to have Web Access Protection permanently disabled? |

| 1172244 | 2011-01-25 04:30:00 | One thing is very confusing. The Nod32 will be on the PC's. Yet it was stated the problem is with the Ipod /Phone, no mention of a PC (s) she has an iPod touch and I have an android phone So where is the connection to these actually going. The Ipod and Phone wont have Nod32. Is the access point (transmitter) actually connected to a PC ? If it is, it shouldn't be, the signal should be off of the router. If the Access point is directly from the router the PC's should have noting to do with the ipod/Phone ??? |
