1131227 2010-08-24 05:29:00 You do agree that Pads will eventually eat into Netbook sales?

I see them smaller and lighter for non work purpose they may do for most people. The non Apple may have a bit more functionality. Any of you know if they work with USB sticks and attachments .. like cellphones, GPS, digicams.

Had a read of the We Pad and HP Slate

What you see is all you get - they're *very* locked down; basically just a giant iPod touch. Erayd (23)
1131229 2010-08-24 06:22:00 What about a non Apple then :D That would be great for travel. For a start they weigh half as much as a Netbook and half as thin. Nomad (952)

1131233 2010-08-25 01:14:00 I'm loving the looks of the new Samsung Galaxy tab that's apparently due out shortly!! Chilling_Silence (9)
1131234 2010-08-25 02:09:00 the "wow" factor for the ipad was tiny. nothing at all I couldn't do on an iPad that I couldn't do on the iPhone. its just bulky and clumsy. big screen is the only advantage but screw watching movies on it.

Pretty psyched about the slate though and the galaxy looks good took. should be able to network them to my external and watch movies ect. much better than some apple tripe

1131235 2010-08-25 08:59:00 Oh I'm certainly not saying there is some "wow" factor to the iPad, they're certainly nice devices, but very limited in more than one way...

...bringing the Android ecosystem to Pads / Slates / Tablets will do the same to that market what it has been doing for the phone market:

The only problem with your link, is that once again we are still waiting for someone to bring something out. Yes I know there are crappy android 1.6 devices from trademe. And also the Dell one that I think has only been released in the states with a 7 inch screen. So yes the ipad is limited, but compared to its competition, oh wait there are none. I for one am still holding my breath to see what happens but how long will I have too wait. So my money will still sit in the bank
