1174030 2011-02-01 02:37:00 Didn't realise this was a little joke you and WT were having.
Thought it was a thread. Joke - What joke ? news to me.

I'm just trying to get a person some help thats out of my area. A paying job to assist some older lady in need.

Sol: your comments earlier:
I thought you were having a go at me, if you weren't, Im glad, I didnt want to have a shooting match...sorry if a jumped on you! No I was not having a "go" at anyone.

Right at the beginning I asked for "Only serious replies please." The answer I got came across as a errrrrrrrr almost sarcastic reply (best way I can describe it), whether it was intend that way or not -- I dont know.

What pctek mentioned regarding "the difference between corporate IT support personnel and those of us that support home users"

I know exactly what she means. Sometimes in the corporate world, its very much do the job, and to hell with being "nice".
There have been many times some techs come across as do it my way or not at all. While that may work in a corporate environment, for the average home user it doesn't.

Anyways :nerd: - I have had an offer from a member here yesterday - and I will see what develops tomorrow when I return the customers PC as to when the help is required - or some arrangement can be made that suits all parties.

Senior net is definitely on the list of "will do"

Back top work - 4 minute break over - boss is being a pain again :D

1174032 2011-02-01 04:01:00 Forget that idea. The only user group in PN seems to be for Macs. :(

Sorry Snorkbox that is not correct. I have been assisting SeniorNet in Upper Hutt since about about the mid 90's and the NZ organisation is definitely PC oriented. There are 2 or 3 Mac groups who are members of the National organisation but about 60 groups are PC users. That includes the Palmerston North SeniorNet.
