| 1173488 | 2011-01-31 02:07:00 | My conclusion to it all is that media device is a piece of ****. It has its faults but I bought it as a video component (ie, YPrPb) capture device. People don't realise how rare such devices are. Perhaps the media owners are trying to prevent people copying TV programs and DVDs to their computer in high quality?? The Probox does an excellent job at video capture and I can now get stuff off my T-box (the Telstra equivalent of MySky) and FTPed to my computer:) As a bonus, the Probox turns out to be a good media player. In particular its 30-second skip button allows rapid hi-quality media parsing. This is so good there's no need to edit out the TV ads or create chapter marks Anyway, the power problem has gone away and there's just one problem left: Win7 putting files on the HDD that choke the Probox's automatic indexing (see separate thread about System Volume Information) |
