There's not one note in it that doesn't need to be there. It's got some lovely melodic shifts in it, yet you can teach a novice guitarist to play it.

And McCartney wrote it in his sleep, which just adds to the mythology of the song.

Quality and quantity is why the music has survived so long and why the band are so respected by so many top musicians since the '60's.
