1131237 2010-08-25 10:10:00 yeah i find they are the same - all the pads .

the general consumer may not care if it has usb, well maybe in the specs page but the apple hype would more than make up for that .

I think you can download stuff from the computer to the iPad right - so movies and music . but it does not have a usb port for a usb stick or a memory card reader, or to tag that gps or mobile phone along and run updates / setup / upload maps etc . . . those features may be the only addition to the other pads, so not a huge difference . i heard the We Pad has HDMI which is kinda cool in the lounge .

the avg person apple or not, it just a consumer entertainment device and the odd email or texting IM . it's a thing you use in the lounge, on the bus, when you travel . it's not like you will be working on your presentation or that spreadsheet or editing pictures .

i guess again many people who go on travel or use it in the lounge, at the cafe, on the bus isn't work related . if it is they probably be issued a work laptop .

1131238 2010-08-25 12:47:00 plod, you are right as always.

I'm waiting eagerly for something to come out. Hopefully, Android will do to the Tablet PC market, what it's done for the phone market.
12 months ago Android was almost unheard of, yet in the last 12 months it's skrocketed to the point where Android phones are outselling iPhones. It will be an interesting next 12-24 months to "watch this space" :D

1131240 2010-08-25 22:34:00 With an iPad not everything is built in ~ check the App store is the normal response.
There's not much I can't do on the iPad that I do on my MacBook Pro. Music, Videos, Graphics, Mucking about with photos, games, Spreadsheets, writing small novels, general surfing, forums, email, Books, refence material.
One App I was having fun with the other night overlays the stars in the sky outside with their names etc. The location and orientation are automatic.
Others use their iPads to access their computers, use them as remotes, use them as GPS systems.
Plenty of options :)

Nope. Not on my MacBook Pro either as I have flash blocked.
html5 is a darn sight better on uTube and everywhere else.

Adobe has never developed a decent Flash app for Mac.. It's rubbish.

As far as games go I have plenty on my iPad, Angry Birds is worth an hour or two.:clap
