1175305 2011-02-04 16:28:00 Hi All

I'm using Gmail's 'Mail Fetcher' tool to manage two email addresses in my Gmail account.

For those that aren't familiar with it, it basically fetches your emails from another account and puts them in your Gmail inbox. Note it is *not* the same as forwarding.
It means that you can reply from the Gmail account and it still shows as coming from the other accounts.
Example: my Gmail might be myname@gmail.com
And my other account might be othername@otherdomain.com

If I look in my Gmail inbox, I can see emails sent to either. And if I reply to one of the other domain.com ones, it actually will actually say it's being sent from that address, not from my Gmail.

I should mention that the 'othermain.com' account being retrieved is POP, while my main Gmail account is IMAP.

So far so good.

But what I want to do, is be able to read and reply to the 'otherdomain.com' emails using Outlook as well/instead of only via the Gmail website.
But, emails sent using Outlook will show the sender as being my Gmail address, not the 'otherdomain.com' address.

I've searched without success on this, does anyone know how I can achieve this?
As I can do it fine from the website, I am assuming it must be an Outlook setting, but I cant find how or where.

Thanks in advance!

1175307 2011-02-04 22:43:00 Maybe try find a plug-in for Gmail/Outlook if using Firefox or some third party utility. The digital Inspiration blog (labnol) has tutorials for Gmail and Outlook - See if you can find one from the search results: Tutorial Search (www.google.co.nz). kahawai chaser (3545)
1175308 2011-02-05 02:13:00 Seems others have had similar issues. Have you tried leaving a copy on the server for Outlook for/during fetching? Might work. There is also the "true switch (secure5.trueswitch.com)" approach, but that uses Windows Live. Or Google Apps for Gmail might have more options. Transfer email accounts tutorial cycle here (www.labnol.org). But it seems a lot has been optimized for transfers/fetching but not so much for replying options. kahawai chaser (3545)
1175309 2011-02-05 13:04:00 Thanks for the replies and suggestions, which I have looked into.

I've done a lot of reading and I don't think I can get it to do what I want.
Basically, I was wanting to do in Outlook, the same as what I can do via the Gmail web interface (namely, send and receive email from my non-gmail account using the one account only).
I can do this fine on their web interface using the the 'Mail fetcher' feature, but it doesn't seem to be possible using Outlook.
