As i haven't had updates in quite a while. It has not alerted me, as it normaly does.

Yeah, nothing much seems to be coming in. Either that or i'm used to downloading 40 updates at a time, which i did when i first installed 7.

1175171 2011-02-04 05:52:00 As usual I only update when I have a problem. I search for the updates and only select a few, if any. Been doing this all the time on several computers and never had any problems with W7. I treated XP the same for many years, only installing Service packs. Auto Update is turned off!

I find attempts to install updates are often unsuccessful.

1175172 2011-02-04 06:00:00 Depends what the update is for I guess. If its for IE (and you dont use IE), it probably wouldnt matter. Obviously updates wont work if theyre off. And updates will probably fail (if it needs a previous / certain update), so it'll install. Speedy Gonzales (78)
