2011-02-03 21:02:00 | I would like a PC World icon for the web link on my desk top. There seems to be none available Any one know where I can get one? Being a computer mag you would think it would be a no brainer that PC World would have an icon? Thanks Ron

2011-02-03 21:24:00 | It is possible to grab the the little PCW icon from the address bar in Firefox by going to Tools-Page Info-Media and highlight this entry "pcworld.co.nz Then with Save As you get the icon, pcw.ico. The problem is, it is only 16x16 pixels, so you may want to make a bigger one anyway from scratch

2011-02-03 22:05:00 | There are several freeware [image file] to .ico converters out there. Much of my desktop is custom icons I've made from suitable images. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2011-02-03 23:47:00 | Do you mean the Red Square with PCW in white, as per the CD This one (www.imagef1.net.nz) - if so simply load up any PCW CD, explore and there is the ICO file. | wainuitech (129) | |
2011-02-03 23:56:00 | Hi A shortcut to the PCW does not produce the desired icon (an Internet explorer icon) unlike most other sites I have not tried Miss Keogh, but I have tried the editor and she is looking into it for me. Thanks

2011-02-04 00:06:00 | Here is the answer from the editor: Not only did you just flummox our reviews editor, who exclaimed "it's just the site followed by /favicon.ico", and then went "huh!" when he discovered that the icon thus shown was not actually the PC World icon, but you also made him cry "…but that's okay! I put an icon on the DVD just for the purpose of desktop shortcuts!" He's currently constructing the next DVD, and I'm not going to let him out of the dungeon until he does, but once it's complete, he's going to email it to you. Thanks to everyone R
