1174193 2011-02-01 02:13:00 Hi Team

My son has let the moths out of his wallet and bought a more modern (used) computer off TM. It is going just fine but when he tries to play Video DvDs Windows tells him he needs a video decoder. He is baffled by the range he sees when doing a search, so what would you recommend that he download?

Cheers

1174194 2011-02-01 02:20:00 K-lite codecs are the best to get and it would help if you said what Windows version and if it is 32 bit or 64 bit. Snorkbox (15764)
1174195 2011-02-01 02:22:00 download ffdshow utopian201 (6245)
1174196 2011-02-01 02:44:00 VLC or media player classic, both are free and rarely need any extra codecs and so much better than Windows media player gary67 (56)

Sorry, didn't realise that it mattered  XP-Pro 32bit

1174202 2011-02-02 01:15:00 The newer versions of vlc can use the gpu to play videos instead of the cpu. Noticed it a bit in my pc even though it only has a 4670. nedkelly (9059)
