1133699 2010-09-01 10:00:00 I have been landed with a AAD-92S AC scanner adaptor to fix.
Usual problem, wires beared comming out of the power pack.
Easy enough to open up & shorten up the lead but it don't go anymore.
It would have shorted out but I have repaired these before & they usually still work. No sign of any blown componants, any ideas?

1133702 2010-09-01 22:25:00 Just read it again, I think I get it:

The wire was damaged and shorted out, you removed the damaged section of wire and re-soldered it inside the adapter - However, it still doesn't work... right?

I guess a fuse or a component has failed due to the faulty wire short circuit. Is it a linear or switch mode power supply? Are you getting any voltage at all or just nothing?

Please post some good photos of the insides, it makes it a lot easier to figure out...

Ah, thanks, this may be the better option, will depend on the delivery cost.
I'll check it out.
