If a majority of the people condone it, then it's the way it is. Poor buggers were just born in the wrong place. SJ, ever seen the Kite Runner? Good movie that. The will of the people buddy, if the MAJORITY of the people want a stoning, how can that not be democracy? Freedom sir, has nothing to do with democracy . We are not free to do whatever we want, we all live in a society and must abide by it's rules, whether it be rules regarding rape and murder or in this case eloping . Who do you think you are telling people what they can and cannot do? You and your sense of morality does not extend to the Afghan people . That's imperialistic bullshit . You are legally entitled to divorce your wife and lock her up in Afghanistan if she doesn't want a shag every four days and you get to take the kids . A constitution law . By the "democratic government" of Karzai . Is that freedom? Is that equality? Hell no . But that's what [apparently] won him the election, that's democracy . Sure it's not an elected democracy, sure, but it's the will of the people . You have to realise the world isn't politically correct . These people want and believe in Sharia law, not what the "west" is imposing on them . Why do you think the Taliban have so much power in Afghanistan? The Tribals want this, this is why this war has failed . You can win any battle but you can't win the will of the people . That is what the Taliban have and we will never have .
