| 1133293 | 2010-08-31 04:15:00 | Hi Vicky, I have a question: yesterday my inkjet was not printing properly - it had missing lines all through it, so I concluded that some of the nozzles were blocked. So I got a real thin bit of copper wire and poked it through the holes to unblock it, but now it won't print at all. What do you think is wrong? :devil |

So I got a real thin bit of copper wire and poked it through the holes to unblock it, but now it won't print at all . What do you think is wrong? :devil These days I print a lot of photos, I've met this problem too, sometimes because of the continuous working of the inkjet printer, it will have missing line, just stop printing, let the machine have a rest . Maybe after several hours, it will be ok . Another possible reason is no ink, the ink is running out, for some compatible ink is not so good enough, so when the ink is little, there will be some sediment, it may block the print head . The third reason is that maybe you've just refilled the ink, cuz according to my experience, everytime after I refill the ink, there will be some problems, like color is wrong, missing line, becasue when we refill the ink, there will have some air in it which can make small bubble, that will cause some defects too . The solution is to clean the print head, just click the maintenance mode, 1-2 times is not enough, maybe 4-5 times needed . That will consume some ink . For the ink of our printer is not CISS, so I need to refill the ink time to time when I print big quantity of photos . I am not a native English speaker, hope what I said will not confuse you . :) |

I think we have to look this from different point of view . Maybe inkjet print is very popular and common in Europe, cuz people can afford a inkjet printer and expensive inkjet media and inks, but in China, not so many people have their own inkjet printers, cuz to some people, it is still expensive . What's more, the people's concept is not easy to change, they prefer to develop photos in photo shop in a tradional way, but they don't know that the photos they got is inkjet printed already, not developed in a tradional way:cool: I think this industry still can be called rising industry, it will become more popular when the inkjet media is not so expensive . My opinion only! Anyway, I am not so professional, I'd like to hear some professional opinions from others . |

| 1133301 | 2010-08-31 21:12:00 | My issue, monitor is calibrated, printer has been attempted to calibrate - printing charts out and the person using a spectrophotometer to create me some custom made ICCs . I use Photoshop to print . I enable color management in Photoshop and selecting the appropriate ICC file and I disable it under the printer driver so I am not double profiling . I get color casts . I have used the Espson ICC but they weren't that right either . Using Epson paper and ink . Each custom profile was created for each different paper . Advice  I am now liasing with a local colour management consultant to see if the ICC file can be edited or if they could be redone or if the printer I have is not good and dump it . Thanks for your help! |
