| 1133322 | 2010-09-01 07:39:00 | Thanks for your post. Laser printing is very prevalent in the business corporate these days. I think inkjet printing is more suitable for SOHO (Small Office / Home Office), where the printing demand is not as significant? If you read my link, that inkjet prints at 420 feet per minute. Not sure if there is a laser printer that will do that. but at a cool 1 million you won't find many in houses |

| 1133323 | 2010-09-01 10:27:00 | Yes, I know a little about color management, but not so farmiliar, I got the ICC profiles from my colleagues, when I print, I just need to click the 'next' I can not open the link, I don't know why which color is missing? Do you use same brand ink? Different brands of ink will have color difference I think Is there an option of clean ink cartridge in your printer system except clean print head? If has, then also clean the ink cartridge plz Additional, is it possible that your ICC profile is not properly? how about reset a new one profile. Basically, when I meet this problem, I just need to clean the print head, then it will be ok. How about you change the cartridge? I've consulted my technical colleagues, they said so. As I said, I am using original ink and original papers. I have done a clean. How do you get a new one? Manufacturer only release 1 of them. I have had this for 5yrs so it's not the ink. I am liasing with a colour management consultant on this matter. Her business can make custom tailor made profiles when they come to your home / office. Do you guys get into this? Basically I want to match my printer to my screen exactly right. Me thinks this is smelling a bit fishy. If you want to calibrate the monitor you stick this thing onto your monitor and it scans the different colours. If you want to calibrate your printer you print these charts out and you use an expensive scanner to scan the colours. Have you heard of companies like, Colorvision, X-rite, GretagMacbeth? Duh. No color is missing. There is just a cast. There is no whiteness blank spots on my photo paper. |

As I know, we can buy EPSON or HP cartridge separately, since it's beening using for 5 years, there might be some problems with the cartridge . Our company also has that customizing service, we use something called spot color spectroscope( I don't know the professional name of it, just translated) to adjust color for customer I have a piece of essay of my boss, it's about all the possible reasons and solutions for color cast, pity that it's in Chinese, but it's too professional, I can't translate it correctly . He mentioned about how to set up the ICC profiles and also mentioned some softwares like ColorMunki Photo, eye-one, IT color etc . And he also said, in photoshop, do not use adobeRGB format . . . How about the calibration of your monitor? According to him, different kind of monitor needs different calibration software, CRT, laptop, LCD . . . so many factors What did the consultants say about your problem? |

I've tried a friend's calibrator too - my screen is the same. Re: the printer. The consultant said that the printer I have is not that accurate and even if I custom calibrate it can be difficult. She suggested me to look into a more modern printer. She has software that can edit a ICC file, she says one may be salvageable, the other may not. The thing with the Epson 2100 or 2200 (USA) is that if you have glossy paper, if you rotate the paper or flap it, you get bronzing effect. The color gets a bit of bronze color and then it may get a bit of pink color. This printer was the first series to have Epson Ultrachrome ink, their newer printers have substantially changed their ink designs..... |

| 1133326 | 2010-09-09 04:17:00 | To Nomad As to our engineer, the EPSON 2100 printer is ok, maybe the ink has problem. Since you've noticed this problem, how about you use some good compatible ink. You try some different media and ink to see the differences. In my opinion, maybe the service life of your printer is up the to limit. The Artisan 800 I am using now also has so many problems eventhough it can be called new, for we just bought it last month. I print a lot of photos these days for we are going to the show, I almost print for 1,000 pieces of photos, the more I print the more problem occur like nozzle plug, color cast, printing mark & line, formfeed problem...Maybe it's only suit for family use not for office:mad: |
