2011-02-02 20:41:00 | I had everything loaded and ready to go on my laptop when I needed video drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. I contacted Samsung because the drivers on their website directed to 32 bit instead of the said 64 bit drivers. They linked me to drivers which I found out were the wrong drivers instead. Now when I try to turn on the laptop it goes to the blue screen and says non bootable drive. I tried the Samsung Recovery Solutions 4 and tried the complete backup option but there is nothing to select to backup to so I am unable to run that. I tried a Windows 7 recovery disc and it says the hard drive may be damaged now and will not run. I then tried chkdsk and it is not finding any hard drive errors. Please help! Thank you in advance! Edit: My signature is the details for my desktop, not this laptop I am trying to repair.

2011-02-03 00:09:00 | Well, I realized I was herping and derping and had checkdisc checking the C: drive while that drive is just the bakup drive that was never used, I am currently running chkdsk on the DL drive and it has already found a bad sector and has been on 8 percent for the last five minutes... Now it says chkdsk cannot continue in read only mode?

2011-02-03 01:32:00 | r580 jsb1us is the full model number. It is actually running chkdsk c: /f /r right now, been stuck on 13 percent for 20 minutes. I was running it on the d: drive but realized the c: drive is the main drive with the OS on it. Before running checkdisk, I tried the Samsung HD utility hutil210 and it gave this error: Can't open CD driver CD001. SHSUCDX can't install. Out of memory error. Bad command or filename. | 1174749 | 2011-02-03 01:38:00 | If chkdsk appears to be stuck at a percentage for any length of time, that can indicate it has found problems and is attempting to fix them. This can sometimes take hours, depending on the problem. chkdsk, may be able to fix the problem, then again it may not, you have to let it finish. Is the HDD activity light on solid, Flashing, or totally off.

2011-02-03 23:59:00 | Checkdisk ran all night and all morning until noon still on 13 percent, so I tried using Hitachi DFT and it did not see the drive? Then I tried the Seagate Seatools, it found 99 problems then stopped running then said read scan failed. I am now using Maxtor Powermax to do a low level format.... | haybailz17 (11016) | |
2011-02-04 00:28:00 | Two possible reasons. Corrupted operating System Possible HDD failing, could be bad Sectors.

2011-02-04 03:52:00 | It just doesn't make sense to me, the laptop is 3 months old and I had no problems until the incompetent chat support from Samsung linked me to the wrong drivers. Now the hard drive is bad? I talked to the support over the phone and he had me try the same Samsung Recovery but there was once again nothing to recover to and he said if the windows partition is missing (when I try Windows 7 recovery it shows Windows Partiton is 0mb) then the warranty would be voided...wtf? It does have the Best Buy warranty, which covers physical damage instead of software and hardware issues, I guess they would prefer me to hammer it to have it fixed?
