1175960 2011-02-07 07:52:00 get the model number of it (should be on the underside) and google methods on how to reset the bios or password.
Or post the model number here and wait for speedy and the other PC awesomes to come help.

1175961 2011-02-07 07:55:00 Pull the power, battery, and cmos battery, wait 5min. Reassemble. Some models have easier methods. inphinity (7274)
1175962 2011-02-07 07:57:00 Assuming he knows how to get to the cmos battery.
There might also be a jumper somewhere that you can either set or short to reset the bios.

1175963 2011-02-07 07:57:00 Hmm try removing the battery / cmos battery (may have to be for a few days). Hopefully its not hardwired (some are on a chip). And there is no way to circumvent it.

Unless you know what the password is. You're not talking about the windows password login screen, are you?

1175964 2011-02-07 07:58:00 If its the BIOS you are trying to get into, try the word Dell

Sometimes its the backdoor password.

If its the OS you are trying to get into, what is installed ?
