1135024 2010-09-06 00:56:00 Ever had that one game in an actual arcade that you kinda look out for maybe for nostalgic reasons?

I recently went into an abandoned spacies palour that really was a dump site/drop off site for out-of-business businesses and found a whole bunch of cool games like:

Elevator Action 2
Bomberman
Ghost n' Goblins
Bubble Bobble
Vigilante
Robocop

Heaps of others.... but yea, just was cool to play on them, the biggest kick for me besides elevator action 2 was finding Altered Beast, we spent many hours down there before the boss told us the power was to get the crap out of there, not to play games.

Wish I took pics but man it was cool fun.
So what was your classic game in the arcade?

Probably my biggest spender was Gauntlet. First RPG??

It's why I ended up with a computer, used to play arcade machines in pubs and such, spent too much money so husband bought home a C64 one day and that was that........many computers later he decides he hates them........

I have to confess I played Bubble Booble way back when. A lot. Friend would come over and although we progressed to real games, we always ended up playing 2 player BB. And clocked it often. WE played it so much, when her daughter was born she used to sleep with BB music - we used to joke she got used to it in the womb...

And when she bought a PS One, I found BB again. So whenever I'm there, we drag it out for a bit of nostalgia.

I have had Amigas since and found you can't go back, you remember it as fun and all that but not now - they just look so sad compared to todays games.

And another friend of mine got an old Arcade machine and built a mame thing in it, he even had the screen rotate so you could have vertical or horizontal scrolling games look better.

But alas, same thing, he had everything on it, but he got tired o it when the novelty wore off, so did I.

He has emulators on his PC, I had a go at that too once - nah. There were great then because they were new - as in the game concepts were new - the graphics were improving and at the time state of the art (remember parallex scrolling?) but now, it's not the same.
