1175452 2011-02-06 03:57:00 Well since nortons or whatever knows what it is tell it to remove it. We cant do much, if its not online. See what happens Speedy Gonzales (78)
1175453 2011-02-06 03:59:00 how can i download the programs because i cannot connect to the internet on the infected computer? one of the pop ups was for antivirus.net is that one of the viruses? also how do i report the site that gave me the virus? eberry09 (16219)
1175454 2011-02-06 04:02:00 norton doesn't know that its there. we have run multiple scans and norton says that there is nothing infected. when im not in safe mode and i try to load up the internet the internet page says you cannot go to this page because your security is invaded or something like that and thats even just to go to google. is there a way i can get around this so that way i could use my computer to download the programs you have told me to eberry09 (16219)
1175455 2011-02-06 04:03:00 Looking at those screen shots, its the same one I had to clean out on Two PC's last week.

One had the rootkit I mentioned earlier. It is a hidden infection, that creates a random name.

As mentioned earlier, run Rkill- then the others.

OR if you want to be able to get in another way - download Combofix (www.bleepingcomputer.com).

Run both Rkill, then combofix in Safemode.

Just a warning - "Sometimes" on the odd occasion, combofix when it removes infections can make the system unbootable if the infections have changed the main system files.

Edited: Are you on Dial up or High Speed then ??
If High Speed, you will need to be connected Via Ethernet cable boot into safe mode with networking - open the control Panel, Internet Options,Connections Lan Settings - make sure "use a Proxy bla bla bla is not ticked.

If you dont kill the process you may not get anywhere - hence, download Rkill from the laptop, transfer to USB drive and run it first.

norton doesn't know that its there No surprise there - hopeless program :p

1175456 2011-02-06 04:06:00 YES.. while i was in safe mode i created a guest account. i then restarted in regular mode but instead of going into my normal administrator account. i clicked on the guest account. i have been able to access the interent on the guest account. where do i go from here? eberry09 (16219)
1175457 2011-02-06 04:11:00 You can either get teamviewer then send the ID and password to me in a PM. Or get this update it (www.microsoft.com) then scan the whole hard drive. Whatever it finds tell it to remove it. Altho whether it'll let you install whatever is another matter.

If that doesnt work, remove the hard drive put it in the working computer, then scan the whole hard drive (with something better than Nortons)

1175459 2011-02-06 04:12:00 what exactly will teamviewer do? eberry09 (16219)
1175460 2011-02-06 04:12:00 Speedy FYI :D -- MSSE wont do it - its not powerful enough. One of the PC's I was working on Last week Had MSSE - and it got infected. wainuitech (129)
1175461 2011-02-06 04:28:00 Could be a fake program thats telling you that you're infected. One site says it maybe a smitfraud infection. this may remove it (www.microsoft.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
