If anything is seriously wrong it will show up in the SMART data already there. Just hit the button for in-depth online analysis to see if there's anything worth looking at. Also, just noticed you said you had Seagate drives, if you've got anything other than SD1A firmware check to make sure it's not affected by the firmware-bricking bug. |

The Speedfan tests are finally finished - all the SMART tests, short and long, produce "no errors". However, there still is a problem but I will restart my other thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) to get back on track with this topic. I do have another 500 Gb Seagate that is a brick due to the firmware bug; when I feel up to it I will 'unbrick' it by following the instructions given on yet another thread that I started (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz). |
