1176275 2011-02-08 06:17:00 Hi, can someone recommend a reasonably cheap psu that will run a gigabyte 460gtx OC and amd phenom II X4 965. Cheap = sub $100 I reckon I need around 550w. (My 450w doesn't cut it, dies on high spec games like dirt2 LOL). icow (15313)
1176276 2011-02-08 06:23:00 I would not use cheap and PSU in the same sentence normally. Snorkbox (15764)
1176277 2011-02-08 06:25:00 What brand is it? I'd say a 450W is enough. Otherwise any 500W+ decent brands. qazwsxokmijn (102)
1176278 2011-02-08 06:26:00 This may be close enough for watts/price:

1176280 2011-02-08 06:45:00 Of the two recommended above I'd pick the Corsair. Snorkbox (15764)
1176281 2011-02-08 07:02:00 I've got an Acbel iPower560 (510W true) powering my puta + EVGA GTX460 SC EE... seems to run real quiet and cool.

Swapped that for the crappy Coolermaster 500W PSU that came with my Gladiator 600 case... the irony of it all is that I found out much later on that they're both made by the same company ie.AcBel

Aywun, chinese psu's ftw. Basically any game set on high-ish settings kills my computer (it powers off)I'm guessing it's the psu unless you can think of anything else.

1176284 2011-02-08 08:37:00 Deffinately PSU. Crysis is playable on low. Crashes after 3 seconds of cinematics on medium. Crashes after load on high. icow (15313)
